# Requirements and bond

Keep enough free XMRn bond and use independent Monero verification tools.

You need XMRn for the bond and HYPE for gas. Use your own tools to check each Monero payment.

1. Open Witness and check the network.
2. Approve the bond amount and wait for confirmation.
3. Add the witness bond and wait for confirmation.
4. Set your minimum witness fee for order selection.
5. Check your free bond before selecting an order.

The required bond depends on the order amount and the current slash ratio. An attestation holds that amount until release or dispute resolution.

Your minimum fee filters the orders you select. Check the actual HYPE fee and verification costs before attesting.
