# Commitment backups

Keep the proof inputs until a successful reveal.

Store the salt privately with its chain, diamond, order, signer and intent-time context. Do not log the transaction secret key.

The main frontend exports an order-bound JSON salt backup. It excludes the transaction ID and transaction secret key. Validate all binding fields on restore.

The no-JavaScript interface instead writes a local .proof file containing the transaction ID, transaction secret key and salt. Never upload it.

Wait for a successful commit receipt, then reveal in a later block. Refresh getOrder after every mined write.

A backup does not extend the deadline. A lost salt cannot be derived from the commitment. Do not repeat the Monero payment.
